Synopsis

A hand-colored silent film in which six women perform acrobatic tricks. There performance is extraordinary. Some of the acts look unrealistic and manipulated with special effects.

Reason of Choice

This short film is a wonderful example of how films looked like in the early days. It demonstrates a common subject of film (theatrical performances), but also how color was added in film. Les Six Soeur Dainef is part of Film Jewels Part 3: a film compilation about the history of cinema, around a theme ('Stunts')
