Description

After the workshops organized with kindergarten schools in the frame of ABCinema – first year, we received requests from different nursery schools in Bologna. We worked especially with one of them, working with the 2 and 3 years old children. The aim was to create a special place and a specific tool – a camera obscura – that could help children in developing creativity by referring to early cinema and using their immagination. Together with their teachers and parents, they built a real “kid-size” camera obscura on wheels. All the children were directly involved into drawing and painting the device, that now is located in the schoolyard and is properly working. Children can enter into this camera obscura and watch the world from many different points of view: it has been built with many holes located at different heigths so that children can watch through them. The last meeting of the activity was held in Cineteca, where children could watch short movies in a real cinema theater.

FILM EDUCATION FRAMEWORK FOR EUROPE

The Framework sets out a series of outcomes to which any film literacy programme or project, be it in the formal education or informal education sector, could realistically aspire. It is not expected that any one project could deliver all of the outcomes in the Framework, but rather it is hoped that by placing the critical, creative and cultural dimensions alongside each other that it will be possible for project developers to explore issues and outcomes beyond their own current practice.
