Description
In the frame of ABCinema Plus, during the festival Il Cinema Ritrovato, ACE - Association of European Cinémathèques, organized this workshop, aimed at all its members. It was meant to introduce a legal and historical framework about Film Education and Film Archives in Europe, and to present some of the best practices at international level. The most of the keynotes were related to the activities that all the partners developed in the frame of the 2 years of ABCinema Project; some others were developed by experts in Film Education or Audience Development fields. The public had the chance to meet and speak with the panelists, to be inspired in eventually fostering or starting Film Education programmes in their venues.
FILM EDUCATION FRAMEWORK FOR EUROPE
The Framework sets out a series of outcomes to which any film literacy programme or project, be it in the formal education or informal education sector, could realistically aspire. It is not expected that any one project could deliver all of the outcomes in the Framework, but rather it is hoped that by placing the critical, creative and cultural dimensions alongside each other that it will be possible for project developers to explore issues and outcomes beyond their own current practice.
